Week 3 News

P.E Lessons

The students have all settled well into Term 3  participating in a focused and engaged way in P.E lessons.

Students in Foundation and Year 1 have developed their throwing, catching and skipping skills through various stations, while students in Students in Years 2-6 developed their skills in specific Invasion Games.  For those of you who are asking “What is an Invasion Game”? Pearson and Webb, 2008 describe them as ‘team games in which the purpose is to invade the opponents territory while scoring points and keeping the opposing teams points to a minimum, all within a certain time period’.

Years 2-3’s are focusing on Basketball with the Year 4-5’s looking at Soccer and the Year 6’s  exploring Netball.

City to Bay

We are now two weeks into our City to Bay training sessions and we saw a large increase in participants this week. We currently have 15 students plus one of their parents committing to the fun run with more hoping to come out next week. With only 5 weeks to go until the big run it would be great to see some new faces next Tuesday at 3:30pm.

Five runners in Week 1 turned into 15 in Week 2.

Can we get 30  St Michael’s students participating in the City To Bay in 2017??
